FAQs

I - Can you offer other items for hire with the marquees? Other services as well?

Yes, MarqueeHire4You offers a range of other products and services. Please refer to our "Prices" page for a more detailed description...

II - How much damage will a marquee cause to my garden or site?

We will try to take every care not to cause unnecessary damage. It is important that grass is cut short to facilitate erection and provide a flat internal ground surface but, please avoid cutting the grass close to the event day particularly if your not using matting or flooring as it likes to stick to anything that gets in contact with. During the summer months the grass may discolour where the marquee has been placed, depending how long the marquee has been up and how much use the grass area received. We will clear all materials and waste on the site caused by our team unless you contract us to remove all the remaining waste (at an additional fee). Please make sure all other contractors clearly understand their responsibility to clear their waste and remove all their equipment before we arrive on site in order for us to dismantle our equipment...

III - The access to the marquee is restricted, will this be a problem?

It shouldn't be as we are able to access most areas without a problem, the marquees we supply are highly portable however, if your site is very tricky to access or further than 25m from our point of access, additional fees may apply. Please mention the ease of access when asking for an estimate or making arrangements...

IV - When do you assemble and dismantle your marquees?

Typically, we would assemble our marquees and any other equipment hired a day prior to the hire date allowing you enough time to make final preparations for your event. Dismantling of the marquee and other equipment hired usually takes place the next day but, because of adverse weather conditions or if we are fully booked for that day, we may have to dismantle it on the following day...

V - Why is it important for the client or a representative to be present when the marquee is erected or dismantled?

Unless prior arrangements have been made, we always advise the customer to be present in order to make sure everything is to their satisfaction, to demonstrate correct usage of equipment or to notify of any arising or potential issues...

VI - Can I make last minute changes to any arrangements already agreed to?

Alterations to accessory requirements can be made no later than 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability. Marquee alterations are flexible and are based on our terms and conditions. Our cancellation policy applies if the hirer wishes to cancel any items from within the contract. Please ask for our terms and conditions booklet...

VII - Can the marquee be connected to a building?

Our marquees can serve as an extension or awning to a building if the space and layout are suitable. Covered walkways are also possible. We are never able to completely connect a marquee to a building but we will   erect the marquee as close to the building as possible to minimise any visible gaps...

VIII - Can marquees be opened in warm weather or can I change the point of entry or exit?

All these are possible as the walls on our marquees can easily and quickly be opened and secured. Please refer to our gallery to view some examples...

IX - Are your marquees safe?

Our marquees are fully staked, weighted, weather proof (it can withstand winds up to 50 mph) and fire retardant. They are made in accordance to EC safety standards...

DON'T GET WET THIS WINTER!!...

X - Can your Marquess be erected on uneven ground?

Our marquees can be erected on uneven ground or sometimes on a slight slope. If unsure we would advise a site visit to discuss your individual requirements...

XI - Can you erect a marquee inside a suitable venue I.E. perhaps a Warehouse?

We have years of experience of turning the dullest looking venues into a more attractive and sociable space, providing the venue is suitable to do so...

XII - Are your marquees suitable for winter?

Yes but, we would advise you to perhaps hire heaters, hard wood flooring with carpet or rola trac flooring with carpet to ensure that your event is dry comfortable and warm unless, your event is on a hard surface where the current flooring is actually sufficient...

XIII - Do I need matting or flooring?

It depends on the event. For weddings we suggest you hire either as it looks much better also, high heels on grass can be awkward. If you are hiring a dance floor you must at least have matting...

XIV - Do I need an extra power supply or cable reels?

In most cases, a cable reel is all you need (or you can hire one from us),we would only advise you to hire a generator if there is a big amount of electronic equipment plugged in or if there's a band...

XV - Do you have insurance cover?

Yes, we hold a Public Liability Insurance cover which will pay up to £5 million in the unfortunate event of an accident. If required, we offer risk assessments, method statements and insurance certificates upon request...

XVI - Why do I have to pay a deposit?

No binding contract will take place until the customer has accepted our quotation in writing and paid the 20% deposit (or any other amount agreed by both parties), booking confirmation will be sent either via Email or through the post. As we hold limited stock, if the customer decides to cancel our services, we may be unable to re-hire that stock therefore, deposits may be non-refundable. Please refer to our terms and conditions (available upon request)...

XVII - When must I make the final payment?

Final payment must be made, and funds cleared, prior to marquee hire, We advise you make payments 7 days before when using cheques, credit or debit cards. Payment in cash can also take place with the foreman providing our services on the day...

XVIII - Do I need a drinks/entertainment License?

You will only need a license if you're planning to charge for alcoholic drinks. It is always worth checking with your local authority as big amounts of guests may have an impact on entertainment licensing terms. If you require a drinks license, you or the people running the bar should contact a local magistrates office...

Help and Advice

When planning an event its essential to get it right from the beginning. We hope our advice can be of some use for you..

When planning for any event, if planned as early as possible, you give yourself more of a chance in succeeding...

Although we hire throughout the year, the most popular season is summer therefore, we advise that you make your enquiries as early as possible to check for availability...

Size matters!!...

Always consider the available space at your site:

  • A large marquee can make your guests feel isolated...
  • Too small will have your guests feeling crowded...

MarqueeHire4You has created a marquee size guide which will help you determine your required dimensions. If you have limited space, measure the area (width and length) and check our chart on our prices page to find out the appropriate sized marquee...

Alternatively, if you have a large area, it would be best to check the total number of guests you're hosting and view the chart to find the appropriate size for you...

When  looking for a site, we advise you to find a site with:

  • No underground pipes or cables...
  • No ground obstruction or restricted space...
  • No overhead cables, trees, etc...
  • Fairly level ground instead of sloping...
  • Enough space to fit the structure between shrubs and trees...

Don't forget

to book!!... It is easily assumed a quotation is an offer of availability but, this is not the case. Stock levels change on a daily basis and to avoid disappointment we strongly advise securing your items by  paying the 20% deposit required. Payments can be made by credit or debit card, bank transfer, or cheque. Only when you receive confirmation of your booking via Email or through the post, you'd have secured the required items...

Don't forget to consider other aspects of your occasion like:

  • Event organizers or party planners...
  • Outdoor caterers and catering equipment...
  • Videographers and photographers...
  • Entertainment options like M
obile DJs, discos, Bands and live music, magician, fireworks, etc...
  • Florists and venue decorators...

Don't forget your neighbours!!

Inform your neighbour of any impracticalities like parking, extra noise, extra light...

Why not pay for your neighbour to stay at a hotel!? Spending £100 in exchange of a little bit of freedom - nobody constantly knocking on the door asking for the music to be turned down - seems like a good deal...

RESPECTING YOUR NEIGHBOURS COULD BE VERY IMPORTANT!!...
